The Secret to 3 Big Wedding Mysteries... Solved

There are times during your planning experience that you may find it difficult to avoid an unfamiliar path, which could quite possibly lead to huge mistakes? Well, we may be able to help you out. We have taken 3 of the most obvious mysteries during the wedding planning adventure, and provided our best resolves.

First off...

the RSVP crisis…

People aren’t responding to your RSVP requests and you aren’t sure if they are actually coming or not. Call them! Lots of times people are just forgetful and they have every intention of being there for the biggest party of your life. The best way to catch all of the stranglers is to pick up the phone and confirm their attendance. If you have too much happening and this isn’t already a service provided by your wedding planner, assign the task to a very efficient, trustworthy, and lovable bridesmaid.

an Adult Only Reception...

This is one of those things that has levels to it. Yes, levels. You start with the wording of your invitation and move from there on properly addressing those being invited. You must name them. You can even imply such on the RSVP card. But, if there is any doubt that your messages have been unclear, pick up the phone. Explain that you want an atmosphere that will not be child friendly, and that you would love if they can make it but there is no negotiation. Don't feel as though you have no option, because it is your wedding. Stay firm and fair. No children means no children at all.

So who pays for what, you say...

Most often the bride and groom pay for the entire wedding on their own, but there are some people who still hold on to wedding tradition. If you are one who plans to take the traditional route, then you may want to be clear on who pays for what. Well, it isn't too difficult to understand. The bridesmaids and groomsmen often pay for all pre-wedding celebrations such as the bridal shower, bachelor and bachelorette shenanigans, etc. The groom's parents pay for the rehearsal dinner. The couple pays for their rings to one another. All of the other expenses are covered by the bride's parents.

Now that we have solved the biggest mysteries in wedding planning, you can relax and enjoy the rest of your planning process. If we can give you one more piece of advice, we would urge you to be sure you hire a wedding coordinator to execute the wedding day you have planned. That may be the best bit of advice on the page...seriously!

Until next time...

be sweet & happy planning!
