5 Informative Wedding Related Questions to Ask Your Venue Manager

During your planning process, you are going to have to talk with a lot of different wedding professionals. There are a few details you will need to know before you begin contacting them, such as your date, your budget, and the total number of guests you are expecting to invite. But you should also be prepared to ask your vendors a few questions as well.

Here are five question we would place at the top of our conversation with the venue manager of your chosen wedding facility:

1. How early can my vendors get in?

This is important because this is crucial information for specific vendors who will have to arrive and setup within a specified amount of time. Once your contracts are completed and times gets closer to your wedding date, it won’t be as easy to make changes regarding time. Get the information ahead of time so you don’t have to worry or fix anything later.

2. How many hours can my event last?

This is important because you don’t want to do anything to cost yourself any additional fees. If you are clear on your hours for the venue rental, you can plan accordingly and notify everyone who will need to know.

3. What items come with my rental?

You never want to assume you get what you see when you visit a venue. Ask what comes along with the space and what items you may have to rent, to be clear on what will be available to you on your wedding day.

4. Do you have a preferred list of vendors?

If the facility has a preferred list, it is best to check that list before securing your vendors. In some cases, the venue will charge additional fees if you select a vendor that is outside of their preferred vendor list. You want to be sure you understand where the venue stands before securing specific vendors.

5. Do you have an in-house caterer?

Some venues require you use their caterer for food and do not allow outside catering services. Make sure you have a clear understanding of the requirements and services of the venues you are interested in for your wedding. If you have your heart set on a specific caterer, but you choose a venue who provides catering, you may find yourself with an aggravating dilemma.

Well, there you have it. These are our suggestions for you to be sure you speak with your selected venue manager about. You don’t know unless you ask, and you never want to find yourself assuming anything.

Until next time…

be sweet & happy planning!
